The dimensions, design, and architecture of WIDSON modular floating berths are selected on the basis of freeboard, strength, stability, and damage-stability calculations in accordance with the requirements of:

• the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RMRS);
• the Russian Classification Society (RCS).

The modular floating berths are assembled from standardised pontoon modules of the following sizes:

• 12 × 3 m;

• 9 × 3 m;

• 6 × 3 m;

• 3 × 3 m.

The use of standardised modules makes it possible to rapidly assemble berths of the required length and configuration while simplifying transportation, installation, and subsequent modification of the structure.

The freeboard height is selected according to the operating conditions, navigation area, and intended function of the berth.

In the standard configuration, the moulded depth is 1.5 m or 2.5 m.

Other moulded-depth values are determined on the basis of strength, stability, and operational-load calculations.

The shore-side end of the pontoon floating berth can be secured:

• to a shore abutment;
• or to a WIDSON modular jack-up platform installed on hydraulically operated support legs.

The use of a jack-up platform provides automatic compensation for water-level fluctuations and maintains a stable position of the shore-side end of the berth across a wide range of operating conditions.

Depending on their intended purpose, WIDSON modular floating berths can be equipped with the following systems and equipment:

• bollards and mooring equipment;
• fendering systems around the berth perimeter;
• electrical distribution boards for receiving shore power and supplying it to vessels;

• wheel stops;
• connecting bridges and access ramps linking the berth to the shore;
• masts fitted with navigation signal lights and deck-lighting fixtures.

• deck hatches with access ladders to below-deck compartments;
• removable lifting equipment;
• lighting and ventilation systems for the internal pontoon compartments.
