WIDSON 50 in Vladivostok: the new Chaika self-elevating platform enters the Far East market

A modular WIDSON 50 self-elevating platform has arrived in Vladivostok. Following the completion of its international transportation, the platform is now in Russia and is being prepared for operations on projects in the Far East. WIDSON LLC is now accepting applications for platform rental and participation in projects scheduled for 2026–2027.

This is an important development for the Russian marine and hydraulic engineering market: WIDSON 50 is no longer just a project, a platform under construction, or equipment that still needs to be transported from abroad. The platform is already in Vladivostok.

From here, WIDSON 50 can be mobilized for projects in Primorsky Krai, Sakhalin, Kamchatka, Chukotka, and other regions of the Russian Far East.

30-meter legs and up to 180 m² of working deck area

WIDSON 50 is a modular self-elevating platform designed to provide a stable working area directly on the water.

Four legs up to 30 meters long allow the platform to be securely positioned at the work site and the hull to be raised above the water surface. As a result, the customer receives a fully functional working platform capable of accommodating drilling, geotechnical, lifting, and other specialized equipment.

One platform — multiple applications

The platform is not designed for just one highly specialized operation.

WIDSON 50 can serve as a base working platform for engineering-geological and geotechnical surveys, offshore drilling, construction and reconstruction of hydraulic engineering structures, piling and installation works, as well as the repair of piers and bridge structures.

Specialized equipment can be installed on the deck depending on the specific requirements of the customer’s project.

Potential applications of the platform include port construction, hydraulic engineering works, geological exploration, engineering surveys, bridge construction, coastal development, and maintenance of marine infrastructure.

Designed to work where conventional equipment faces difficulties

The Russian Far East places special demands on marine equipment: vast distances between project sites, short navigation and construction seasons, complex logistics, and high mobilization costs.

For this reason, one of the key features of WIDSON 50 is its modular design.

The platform can be disassembled into transportable modules, moved between regions, and reassembled directly in the area where the work is to be carried out.

This makes it possible to use the same platform consecutively at geographically remote sites and significantly expands the range of locations where it can operate.

Vladivostok becomes the base location for WIDSON 50

The arrival of the platform in Vladivostok allows WIDSON LLC to move from offering a project concept to providing equipment that is physically available for deployment.

The company is currently considering projects involving WIDSON 50 in Primorsky Krai, Sakhalin, Kamchatka, and Chukotka.

Priority applications include engineering surveys, construction and reconstruction of port infrastructure, drilling and piling operations, bridge construction, and other projects requiring a stable working platform on the water.

The platform is available for rent and can be equipped with additional machinery and specialized equipment depending on the customer’s requirements.
